What’s On

Bolton Area Home Educators run a selection of different activities to provide learning opportunities for families home educating in the area. Each term we plan a range of regular sessions, and one-off educational trips. On the following pages, you can find out about the activities that are currently running.

We are committed to ensuring that all our activities are inclusive. This means keeping our costs low, ensuring that younger siblings are able to accompany families, and catering for any additional needs that families may have. We know that every family is different, so if you would like to discuss ways in which we can help, please let us know.

Parental participation

For most sessions, we ask that you actively engage with your child(ren) during the sessions. This is the best way to enable your child to benefit the most from the session and allows learning to continue at home. Please be aware that some sessions are run by parent volunteers, who are also teaching their own children, and parents will be expected to help out during the session, and clear up afterwards.

We continue to try and keep costs as low as possible using parent volunteers, and applying for grants. Please let us know if you can help to lead a session, including existing ones as we are always looking for more volunteers. If you have a skill to share and would like to set up a new session, we can help you do so. We are always looking for volunteers who can help on the committee.

Confused by dates?

We have a calendar of all our activities. For safeguarding issues, we do not publish all our venue address on our website. Please contact us for further details.

Older / Younger children accompanying you?
We ask that you pay for children who are participating in the session. Other siblings are welcome to accompany you without cost.
