How you can help

We are a not-for-profit Charity (CIO), run entirely by volunteers. We welcome any help that you are able to provide, large or small. This could be as simple as raising money when you buy online or helping tidy up during sessions. Or you could make a financial donation, run a session, or join the organising committe. Please see below for more details.

If you shop online, do it through and raise a free donation for Bolton Area Home Educators every time you shop. There is no cost, no catch, and you can help us raise vital funds for the group.

You can also donate directly via Localgiving, which allows us to claim giftaid on all donations (please note there is an admin fee charged).

Cash donations

During sessions, we often have a donation pot out. If you are able to give any spare change, we really appreciate it as it means that we can offer more opportunities and quality equipment for our children.

Helping with regular sessions

Our sessions are mainly led by parent volunteers. As such, we do expect attending parents to help with setting up and clearing away. Any help during the sessions is also appreciated – whether this is bringing something along, sharing a skill, or general helping out.

If you would like to help with leading a session, or have a skill to share, please get in touch. We can provide you with training opportunities, and fund any out-of-pocket expenses.

Organising educational trips

Have you seen a workshop or educational trip that you would be interested in? As a member, we will support you to organise events and trips for the group. This means that the trip will be covered by our public liability insurance, and we can also help providing a dedicated bank account for collecting payments, and liaising with finance departments to pay invoices. We can often subsidise the trip to ensure that it is affordable.
